What types of tropical fish should I put in my 38 gallon tank?
I have a 38 gallon tank and it is ready for fish. What tropical fish would you recommend I buy? I’m a beginner and would like some easy-to-care for fish. Just some easy fish that I can feed tropical flakes or freeze-dried and pellets. Thank You!
You should get a Trigger. They have great personality. Maybe get a grouper. They are hardy.

Zebra danios and mollies are defiantly hardy fish. In my opinion they are also the best fish to use when cycling a tank.
The easiest thing you could do is a species tank(all one kind of fish) You don’t have to worry about the needs of many kinds of fish, and you don’t have to worry about fish compatibility.
If you want a community tank tho, start out with a hardy species like mollies or zebra danios to cycle the tank. And after the tank is cycled you can add things like barbs if you want. Its also good to have some kind of bottom feeder. The best kind i can recommend are corys.(i like the smaller ones like skunks and panda corys) but Shrimp are also fun and interesting bottom feeders. once your tank has really been established you could add slightly more sensitive fish like tetras.
