You can boil the water some.

The cheap tanks you could get from around $20 and they will go up from there. I think your fish will just have to hang in there til the weekend for the heater unless you have a good airconditioner so you can set it to about 25 degrees C so the bowl will get to that room temperature.
You can keep the water warm with either a light during daylight hours or you can buy a very small heater that will heat a small tank. I wouldn’t put the betta in a tank much larger that 2 gallon, they seem to do much better than in the larger tanks. They just don’t like all that crazy room.
He’ll survive a few days, just keep him in a warm room (NOT in sunlight!)
I suggest you try Petsmart for this, Eclipse brand makes some excellent mini-tank kits that are more than sufficient for a betta. They come anywhere from 1-12 gallons (I suggest the 3 or 5 gallon for a betta) and the kit comes with an acrylic tank, hood, light, filter, etc. You just add the fish and some decorations, and you’re ready to go. If you get the smaller tanks, you really don’t even need a heater, because the light from the top keeps the water warm. There is room to add a small junior tank heater or air pump if you desire, but I’ve kept many bettas alive quite happily in these tanks.
They’re affordable too, less than $50 for everything.

Buy a 10g setup at walmart for 30 bucks. Come with the heater, filter, hood, and lighting. GREAT DEAL! and your betta will love you for the ample space to swim and frolic
If you plan on getting the new tank soon just keep the betta in a place that stays more warm, in a central room of the house away from windows and vents. Kitchens and bathrooms tend to stay warmer.
You can get a 5 gallon hex tank with a bio wheel filter, hood and light for $29 at Walmart, the cheapest place I have ever seen them. However, DO NOT buy the heater there. They only sell heaters that cannot be adjusted and do an auto-set to 78. The problem with these heaters is that they shoot up too high for bettas that have not had a climate control and temp shock them, they tend to over heat or short out and there is no way to adjust them. Do not cheap out on the heater, get a GLASS thermometer (about $2.25 at Petsmart) with a dial controlled heater. They do sell small ones for a 5 gallon tank fairly cheap at Petsmart too. The sad part is you cannot buy the tank from Petsmart. Their 5 gallon hex’s are $45+ and the $29 one I bought at Walmart is the exact same.
This would be the perfect set up for a betta. They really do need at least 5 gallons. Whoever said they are sad in larger tanks is an uneducated dolt. I have a blue male crowntail in this set up in my daughter’s room and he is happy and very healthy. He has plenty of room to swim, the mainatenance is minimal since he has a low current filter, and he’s happy having a constant tropical temp. Plus, I didn’t have to spend an arm and leg on his set up and the hex design of the tank allowed me to sit it right on her dresser.
Good luck : )
